A journaling & mindfulness workshop to press refresh for 2022

With guided journaling and mindful meditation and, of course, poetry, we’ll reflect on 2021 and what we want to envisage for 2022.

There will be some (completely optional) opportunities to share reflections with the group. You can also keep your thoughts private in your journal.

Find some inner stillness and connect with what really matters and what the heart desires.

Bring paper & pen. Find a comfy place where you won’t be disturbed.

Cath created a safe and inspirational space. She made sure that everyone had a chance to contribute if they wished to. The content was a great balance of mindfulness, discussion, journaling and well chosen poetry. Great value and a lovely experience. Why Mindfulness?

Research has shown that the brain actually changes in response to regular mindfulness practice and that mindfulness can reduce stress and sometimes reduce physical pain, and boost happiness, creativity, memory and concentration. Mindfulness is recommended by the NHS. I have found it enriches and deepens my writing practice, and sparks new poems.

Mindfulness is a therapeutic technique that can help you manage and prevent feelings of depression, stress, anxiety, or discontent. It enables anyone who practices it to live a more attentive, appreciative and vibrant life. The University of Oxford, Mindfulness Centre.

About Cath Drake

Cath is an award-winning poet and nonfiction writer living in London. She teaches poetry, creative writing and mindfulness. She has practiced meditation and mindfulness for over twenty years in Australia and UK. She’s an active member of London Buddhist Centre where she set up monthly mindfulness and social action group. Cath trains with Breathworks mindfulness teacher training.

Part of the UK/Australia Season of Culture 2021-22, a major programme of cultural exchange taking place across the two nations. Who are we now? How can we describe, challenge or create new connections with our land and people in the 2020s?
