Syntax is the very nerve of poetry!

Mimi Khalvati, one of the best poetry  teachers on the planet, will explore the power of the short, explicative sentence and the sinuous beauty of the long one, giving full rein to our personal predilections while also experimenting with fresh structures of thought and feeling.

Whether in reading and discussing poems both contemporary and classical, or in writing new poems of your own, in this workshop we will focus not on subject matter or theme but on syntax, the rhythmic pattern and the very nerve of poetry.

From a previous workshops with Mimi:  I just wanted to say a big thank you for the workshop with Mimi. It was so enriching and I learnt so much. It felt that every word Mimi said was poetry! There is such a lot that I have taken from the workshop. Caroline Hadley
