Wordshuffle Café, Albany Café, Deptford
From 1st to 22nd September I’m writer in residence at the Albany café: http://www.thealbany.org.uk. The Albany is one of the leading performing arts centres in the UK, programming some of the best spoken word and poetry events. Wordshuffle Café aims to engage with café patrons with poetry, creative writing and community in a new ways.
Come and contribute your creativity by writing in the Wordshuffle Café Books lodged in the café from 1st to 22nd September. You only need a few minutes to spare to help build up creative nuggets in these community books or you could spend and hour or so of fun with friends writing in the books over coffee or lunch. There are creative questions to respond to and some tips inside the books. Follow the writings from others and see how the books develop! I’ll be blogging here: http://wordshufflecafe.wordpress.com/
For inspiration, poets offer personal performances as they wander in and around the Albany Café on days below. They will offer a Wordshuffle Café Poetry Menu on the following dates:

Saturday 15th Sept 11-2pm Cath Drake is joined by Chill Pill’s Ray Antrobus for writing fun… come and join us.
Join the Wordshuffle Café Celebration with the community books, poetry menu poets (Cath Drake, Malika Booker, Dzifa Benson, Baden Prince Jnr) and the fabulous John Hegley http://www.johnhegley.co.uk/ on 22nd Sept 1-3pm in the Albany café. We’ll be reading extracts from the books.
